Born and raised on the sweet island of suburbia. I was sheltered and protected with a strong
family structure. The real world was kept at a very far distance from my young psyche.
I was sheltered and protected with family trips, backyard sports, good friends, happy holidays and long
adventurous summers. It had nothing to do with the real world. I highly recommend it.
My mother was loving, over protective, and always there when we needed her. I could never
even come close to repaying what she had given me and I only begun to understand what that was
well into my adult life. So how did I go through all that and wind up here. Why the comics
with strange people doing strange and unkind things? Well, I grew up with the super hero comics of Batman and Spider-Man. I guess I believed in the idea that heroic things could be accoplished no matter what the odds. I also religiously watched the Batman TV show from the 1960's and , as a child, followed Adam West's exploits as Batman in a very serious manner. Even when Batman was trying to outduel the Joker in a surfing competition, I beleived in the drama of the moment and could scarcely see the humor in what was happening. In my teenage years I was more then ready to give up on comics for the more lofty endeavors of chasing girls and rock 'n' roll. Then a friend recommended a Daredevil comic book written and drawn by Frank Miller. I picked up an issue and saw in the first couple pages a young girl dive out the window of her classroom while overdosing on some kind of hallucinagenic drug. Later, in that issue, Daredevil beat the living snot out the drug pusher who sold the drugs to the child. It was dark and gritty and in no way resembled the bright colored heroic world of the comics I read as a child. I was hooked... and believed that comic books were something I could take with me into my adult life. That doesn't explain everything that goes on in my stories and on this site, but I dont' have all day to explain it to you. A lot of this you're going to have to come to your own conclusions about. I will tell you this. I believe there is good in the world.
It's just not as loud and obnoxious as hatred and anger. I believe in a loving and just god
that intends to provide peace and compassion for all of us... just not in this world.
Oh, and by the way, God also thinks I'm fucking hilarious.
This bio will grow and change as my life grows and changes. Most of this will be true. |
